Nina & Heikki

Congratulations to Nina and Heikki on a fabulous wedding day! Their ceremony was in the Temppeliaukio Church, which is a great church for natural light as I said in my last wedding there. They surprised me with a 'BIG KISS', thank goodness I was in the right position to capture it! Nina and Heikki chose two locations for their wedding portraits and both were great choices....the first location was at the back of Finlandia-talo where there is a little garden and railway 'sleepers' positioned as an art piece.  A fantastic spot for images a little on the funky side...the second location was the Ateneum...not many people know that you can actually do a wedding shoot inside on the staircase...great for wet/cold wedding days. The ceremony was at the Radisson Blue Hotel, which also has a great funky area for dinning and photos. Enjoy!

Liisa & Mikko

Liisa and Mikko were an absolute delight to photograph, they interacted and connected so well in each image.  The extremely well planned wedding day started at the reception venue in Munkkiniemi, Villa Hakka, which offered many diverse locations for a photo shoot with the bridal party. I normally don't recommend to have your wedding portraits before the ceremony, although Liisa and Mikko were so calm and enjoyed every moment. I drove the boys to the church...it always makes me laugh how the conversations are so different that take place in the 'boys' car compared to the 'girls' car... :) As a wedding photographer, I get to hear and see many things 'behind the scenes'... The ceremony was at Temppeliaukion Kirkko, which is a fantastic church for a photographer, it has an abundance of natural light flowing in. The other thing that I wanted to mention was the food at the reception was fantastic...I get to eat at many different venues, and this definitely made it to 'my top 3' this wedding season. Congratulations to Liisa & Mikko!

Elina and Arto - The Party couple of the year!

The setting for the ceremony of Elina and Arto was in Lappajärvi, a beautiful church set on the shore of a lake. Even though my Finnish language skill are limited at best, the priest had amazing command of his speech and made everyone laugh and feel at ease and set a great 'tone' for the rest of the day. Nice to see a priests with a sense of humor...! The reception was held at Karvalan Nuorisoseura, it was here where the party really took off with some amazing dance moves that looked oh so painful! The band was one of the best bands that I have heard all summer....I cant remember their name, although if someone from the wedding would like to comment on this below, please feel free.  Congrats on a fantastic day!
